As an environmentalist, I’d like to thank the cyclone that happened in Chennai during Diwali—Deepawali, in Kannada— because the bursting of firecrackers has gone down by 50% this year because of the rain that prevailed day and night for two solid days!!! 50%!!
I’m overjoyed. At least like this, people may have a chance to bond with their families and distant relatives than burning. . . stuff. It hurts, okay?
And not many people understand it. In fact, it is the adults who don’t give a shit about it. They’re the ones not leaving a better planet for their future generations to live in! Why can’t they just get it in their heads?!
